Hello and welcome! I’m Amy Tieman, a self-taught mixed-media artist with a lifelong love of drawing, creating, and getting lost in my own little world of color and imagination.

My creative journey began in childhood, when I spent countless hours happily immersed in drawing and creating. As life unfolded, my time for art naturally gave way to the joys and busyness of raising a family. I married the love of my life in 2000, and together we built the family we had always dreamed of—including a beautiful surprise fourth child who reminded us that sometimes the most unexpected chapters become the most extraordinary.

For many years, motherhood was my greatest creative endeavor. Then, in 2020, following the loss of my mom and during the uncertainty of a global pandemic, I felt an undeniable pull back toward art. Painting became my sanctuary—a place to process grief, quiet my mind, and rediscover joy. What began as a return to something I had always loved soon became something much deeper: a source of healing, hope, and connection.

In December 2024, life brought another profound chapter when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Once again, art became a place of refuge. During treatment and recovery, creating became a way to remind myself that even in the hardest seasons, healing and beauty can exist alongside one another. Each piece became a quiet expression of hope, resilience, and the belief that beautiful things can still emerge from difficult places.

Today, I create colorful, imaginative worlds inspired by nature, underwater life, florals, dreams, and the simple magic of seeing the world differently. Whether working with alcohol inks, watercolor, mixed media, or digital techniques, I’m always searching for that moment when color and imagination come together to create something that makes you pause—and perhaps feel something of your own.
